Just Wait...

My new oncologist (oh, I didn't tell you, I have a new oncologist), apparently didn't read my chart and see that I'm allergic to the IV contrast they use in the CT scans. And apparently you need to start a pre-medication regimen 13 hours before your scan if you're allergic to contrast. Sooooooo...I'm now scheduled for a scan on Jan 15th and I'll be meeting with the doctor to get the results on Jan 19th.

Maybe sometime between now and then I'll post some pictures or something to tide you over till we have some real news.

That is just cruel to do a thing like that to you. :( Since it was the doc's fault couldn't they have scheduled you sooner?

I hope you are able to view this as simply another two weeks reprieve before having to learn of any new medical course of action. Two more weeks to build your strength and spirit up, to recuperate from the arduous regimen of surgeries and chemotherapy treatments of the past twelve months. And, in the end, I hope like so many others that the diagnosis is simply no visible evidence of disease, come back in three months for another day of scanxiety.

Ugh. I'm thinking about you and you guys are always in my prayers. Like everyone else, I'm hoping and praying for a great scan.

I second Art Usher's comment, Lisa Marie! Two weeks to breathe deeply and to embrace all the beauty in your life. Thinking of you.

Couldn't be better said than Art's sentiments. I look at your recent family photos and think of you all day, every day. I especially love the photo of you, Sean, Art and the kids in Jamaica. Be well. Love, Auntie Suzy
