Pray for a Quiet Night
Please pray that all goes well tonight. We seem to have gotten a zombie nurse. She walks around without saying anything unless you talk to her first. She seems to have some head games going on, too. She cut us off the PCA pain pump without saying anything and then when I asked her if the pump was on (I only asked this because the display said "Press Start to Infuse"), she proceeded to press the start button and said, "Yes, it's on." She then walked out humming an eerie tune. It's already an hour and a half past the end of visiting hours so I'm just trying to lay low to see if I can delay getting booted out to be with Lisa Marie and keep an eye on things. Pray for a calm and uneventful night.

Good luck!! Sounds like Nurse Cratchett!! Hope yall both get some sleep.
If you don't feel comfortable, you insist on staying the night, period. - at risk of nurse managers being brought in, doctors being called, whatever. Leave when you feel that Lisa is in good hands. Our prayers are with you all.
We are praying for the calmest, most uneventful night ever for all of you up there in D.C. Keep updating us (the Internet) on what you need and we will hope and pray for it with all our might.
We are also praying for a nursing shift change ASAP. :)
exactly!!! insist to be allowed to stay, ask for a nurse change..people do it all the time..no one will sleep if you are uncomfortable with the nurse and that will not help with the recovery process..be nice, but be strong..love you
You've received some excellent advice. Be pro-active. If you aren't there to advocate for Lisa Marie, no one else will be. Do ask for a nurse change. Trust your gut.

please post name of the marquis du sade's sister - agree with cuz - do not be intimidated by the nurse call attention to the pain machine - what Lisa is getting and how often can be validated. Hope there is a peaceful night.
Love,
Aunt Dorothy
Hope things went well over the night. But, I agree with others -- do what you feel is best -- go with your gut. You have come too far with such great success to have someone you are not comfortable with in this recovery phase. Love, Kim
We will continue to pray for her recovery and your strength.
PLEASE request a nurse change. When the kids were in the NICU I had a screaming match with the nurse and told the doctor and the head nurse she was never allowed to touch my children again. they will usually honor your requests.
Discuss your concerns with her doctor. They want the best care for her. Stand firm.Praying for you both.Aunt Joy
I hope LM's second post-operative day is going smoothly and uneventfully. Thinking wonderful thoughts for you and your family.
Lisa Marie, We're hoping that you're still doing really well. Hang in there.
HOpe you got lots of rest and good exercise yesterday. Kim
Hello all - I'm hopeful that the nursing situation has improved for LM and that the helipad activity is to a minimum.
